Many of us read the Quran regularly but struggle to connect its meanings to our daily lives. This seminar is designed to move beyond surface-level reading by providing the foundational principles and frameworks needed for deeper engagement.

Shaykh Dr. Ahmed Saad will outline intellectual and spiritual lenses through which we can approach the Divine Word. The focus is on developing a versatile understanding of how to draw consistent insight and wisdom from the text.

  • General Principles: Learn the overarching frameworks used by scholars to interpret and reflect on the Quran.

  • Informed Insight: Gain the tools to transition from passive reading to active, grounded contemplation (Tadabbur).

  • Broad Application: Understand how to apply these frameworks to different parts of the Quran to develop a close relationship with the words of Allah.

Selections from The Shamā’il & Hamziya

£50

Sunday 23rd August 10-4pm
210 Church Rd, London E10 7JQ & online via Zoom. In-person tickets are limited.

The Shamā’il provides a detailed record of the Prophet’s ﷺ physical description, habits, and conduct. In this one-day seminar, Shaykh Dr. Ahmed Saad will take us through a selection of traditional narrations to bridge the gap between abstract knowledge of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and practical following.

The day is designed for those who wish to move beyond a general knowledge of the Seerah and focus on the specifics: how he spoke, how he dealt with people, and how he carried himself in various settings.

Understanding the Prophet’s ﷺ specific traits turns his example into a lived reality.

  • Precise Knowledge: Gain a clear understanding of his description as recorded by his companions.

  • Practical Implementation: Identify specific behavioural traits to apply in your own life.

  • Scholarly Guidance: Study classical texts directly to ensure a correct and contextualised understanding of the Prophetic model.

Islam and Modernity

£50

Sunday 13th September 10-4pm
210 Church Rd, London E10 7JQ & online via Zoom.
In-person tickets are limited.

Modernity presents a unique set of challenges to the traditional Muslim worldview, often leaving believers caught in between. This seminar offers an exploration of how to navigate these tensions without compromising the core faith.

We are joined by Shaykh Abu Aaliyah, author of Islam and Modernity, alongside Shaykh Dr. Ahmed Saad. Together, they will discuss the frameworks necessary to understand the modern world, not just as a series of external changes, but as a distinct philosophical shift that impacts our worship, ethics, and identity.

To live as a Muslim today requires more than just knowing the rules; it requires an understanding of the environment we live in.

  • Contextual Clarity: Understand the historical and philosophical roots of "modernity" and how it compares to a traditional worldview.

  • Balanced Perspective: Learn how to engage with modern life critically and constructively, avoiding both total isolation and total assimilation.

  • Scholarly Dialogue: Benefit from a live discussion between two thinkers who have dedicated years to reconciling traditional texts with contemporary challenges.
