A Space for Growth: Our Menstruation & Wellbeing Course
At Ihsan Institute, we believe that understanding your body is a key part of understanding your faith.
We’ve designed this course to teach you about everything to do with the female cycle, from the essential Fiqh to everyday health as well as the Fertility Awareness Method, with Ustadha Saffiya Gaffar.
We’ll be joined by Dr. Subohi to talk about the transition into menopause as well as Dietitian Inas Jabir to discuss fertility and how our diet affects our hormones.
The goal is simple: we want you to leave feeling more in tune with your body’s natural rhythms and more confident in your practice. Whether you're looking for clarity on legal rulings or just want to feel healthier and more grounded in your faith, we’d love for you to join us.

Bonus Class: Nutrition for Female Health
- Join Dietitian Ines Jabir to explore nutrition as a practical tool for healing. This session covers dietary support for the four phases of the menstrual cycle, pregnancy, and menopause, as well as managing PCOS, endometriosis, and other hormonal imbalances.
Bonus Class: Understanding Female Health
- Join Dr. Subohi Alam for a session on menopause and menstrual imbalances, including Endometriosis, Fibroids, and PCOS. The session will cover symptoms and treatment options for each condition, alongside the Islamic perspective on illness and healing.
Meet the Teacher
Ustādha Saffiya Gaffar:
Ustādha Saffiya started her Islamic Studies at the Micro Madrasa in Liverpool. Thereafter, she studied Arabic in Morocco before completing her Bachelors in Islamic Studies at Cambridge Muslim College. She is currently continuing her Islamic Studies with Shaykh Ahmed Saad al-Azhari, with a focus on Arabic and Maliki Fiqh.
She has taught Arabic, Tajwid and Fiqh at various institutes including Cambridge Muslim College, Al-Erth al-Nabawi Academy, Noon Arabic and Dar al-Zahra Liverpool. She currently teaches Fiqh and Arabic weekly and is involved in multiple community outreach programs in London, such as Al-Muhsinat Collective. In her spare time she loves to sing, play duff, swim and practice her archery.

Dr Subohi Alam:
Dr Subohi Alam worked as a distinguished GP for over a decade and is currently a dedicated counsellor who graduated with Honours from Guy’s, St Thomas’ and King’s Hospital in London, bringing over 20 years of integrated medical and therapeutic expertise to her practice. Specialising in women’s health, mental wellbeing, and lifestyle medicine, she employs a "whole-person" philosophy that treats the mind, body, and spirit as deeply interconnected. Whether addressing anxiety, hormonal transitions, or personal growth, Dr Alam is committed to providing a safe, empathetic space where clients are empowered to build resilience, find balance, and achieve lasting transformation.
Ines Jabir:
Ines Jabir is a Specialist Dietitian with NHS experience and a global reach, dedicated to helping individuals and organisations cultivate healthier, sustainable lifestyles through evidence-based nutrition. She specialises in hormonal health and diabetes management, focusing on insulin sensitivity and blood glucose control, and provides expert guidance on fertility and maternal health from conception through pregnancy. By prioritising long-term wellness over extreme measures, Ines empowers her clients with practical strategies for sustainable weight loss and lasting vitality.
